About Primrose Valley
Primrose Valley is Haven's flagship Yorkshire site
Primrose Valley is on Yorkshire's East coast, between Bridlington and Scarborough, about a mile South of Filey.
The site is on the cliff tops, with pedestrian access to a 5 mile stretch of sandy beach.
It is the best of all the sites on Yorkshire’s coast, and has just undergone a £6M improvement scheme, which has including new pool areas, suitable for all ages.
There are over 30 different water features to explore, such as slides, fountains and SplashZone activities for kids of all ages. On selected days, you can hire jet propelled water scooters, which have to be tried, to be believed. If all that isn't your thing, you may prefer to just relax in one of the bubble pools.
Each of the pools has an area that can be overlooked from a bar/cafe. So, if you don't fancy going in the pools yourself, you can relax, whilst the kids play, under the supervision of qualified lifeguards.
Most facilities are accessed via a FunWorks pass. These are purchased from the site directly. You don’t have to purchase Funworks passes, but we would recommend that you do take advantage. See our "FunWorks passes" page for details of pricing. There are a few facilities, such as swimming tuition, funfair, and boat hire that are not covered by the pass, but charges are reasonable.
The complex boasts 4 separate bar/club areas for your use, with varying degrees of activity! There is sure to be one that suits you. A full entertainment programme is provided, with admission covered by your FunWorks pass.
During the day, kids can take part in organised activities, in one of three groups, to suit their ages:
1-4 PAWS
5-11 Rory & Bradleys Funtime
12-16+ T-CO
It pays to check the week's programme, when you arrive.
There is a Fish shop, a Burger King, a Chinese restaurant & takeaway, a supermarket, a launderette, and even a bookmakers, all within the complex. If that’s not enough, then Filey is a pleasant 20-minute walk, along the sea front. Public transport provides links to Bridlington, Filey, and Scarborough.
Just outside the main entrance, the Royal Oak serves real ale, and has a proper restaurant attached. Five minutes' drive will get you to Filey, which has French, Italian, Chinese, and Indian restaurants.
Within the site, there is a funfair, go carts, crazy golf, a boating lake, archery, a climbing wall, and fishing, and there’s a golf course next door. The Primrose Tavern serves good food, and the prices are fair.
Our caravan is located at the quieter end of the park, so that you’re not disturbed late at night. The aqua bar / pool and the boating lake are about 5-10 minutes walk away. The main clubs are about 10-15 minutes walk, as is the sea. We are situated on a private cul de sac, with tarmac roads, private drives, and night lighting. The caravans here are spaced further apart, and it’s generally much more pleasant. In fact, we pay over £4000 per year ground rent, just to have this setting.
Don’t let the walking distances put you off - you can get caravans nearer to the clubs etc, but you won’t get any peace, as everyone has to walk past your caravan, just to get to theirs. We have virtually no passing traffic – just the few others who share our cul-de-sac.
If you think about the size of Primrose Valley, you'll realise that there will be a large number of people coming out of the clubs, late night / early morning. If that's you, then by all means book a caravan near the clubs. If you're looking for a family holiday, and you want to get some sleep on a night, then book ours.
Location of our caravan
Our caravan is number 4 Aspen Court, which is a much sought after corner plot.
Aspen Court is towards the bottom left of this map. It's the group of 18 yellow boxes - the ones with lots of space around them.

Making sense of the map
The main bar / pool complex is towards the middle right (10-15 minutes walk). Notice how close together the caravans near the clubs are, then compare with those on Aspen Court. That's why we chose to pay the extra ground rent and have our caravan on Aspen Court.
The sea can just be seen, at the bottom right hand corner. There is a 5 mile stretch of sandy beach, which slopes gently into the sea, if you fancy a paddle.
Filey is up and to the right, along the coast, about a mile away. You can walk there and back, on the beach.
For SatNav, the site's postcode is YO14 9RF
